Wrapping Up

Tomorrow my baby girl graduates from high school. While many of MY friends from high school are busy crying over this same situation and trying to cope with the "my baby is leaving for college" dread, I am making plans to move some 7000 miles away. If the latest update is true, I will be leaving a week before Lauren moves into her dorm. While silently questioning if I had suddenly morphed into my own mother, I found the above mentioned child looking for a condo in Abu Dhabi...to purchase. True fact: she was posting pictures of beaches in Abu Dhabi on Facebook and announcing my new job while I was still on the phone with my Teach Away Representative. Apparently, she's good with me leaving!

While my authentication paperwork seems to be idling away at the U.S. Department of State, everything else is in order...I think (?). I sold my house in April and moved everything into storage.  Everything that I didn't sell or throw out! My car fits in there perfectly and that will be it's new home as of mid-August. I had problems locating a short term rental, but was lucky enough that a friend offered to let us move in with her until I leave. So far it's been 6 weeks and we're still friends. The hardest part was giving away the dogs.

I packed my classroom and added that to the storage unit.  Monday I  will watch my eighth graders graduate while we all move onto the next phase of our lives.
